The Language of Dreams

Dream Games
More than likely you have landed on this page because you have read one of my articles on dream recall and understanding.

So I will skip the techniques to begin remembering dreams.

Lets first get into understanding and interpreting your dreams. Much of your dream images will be unique to you as to their meaning.

Snakes are fearful to those that hate them and have a totally different meaning to someone who loves them.

Lets play a gestalt game, look around the room you are in, pick and item any item. Now imagine you are the item.

If it’s a clock on the wall, DON’T say the clock is, instead say I am and imagining you are the clock.

So what we are doing is taking on the persona of the item.
First question: as this item “how would you describe yourself”

I will play like I am the clock.

I am a clock and I tell time, I rotate around a dial, I keep track of moments passing by.

You can go on as long as ideas keep coming to you.

Second question: “I most certainly am not.” As the clock I am not valueless because

I keep track of moments and it gives me control of reality in many ways.

Third question: “What is the one thing that you would change about your self as this item”. Again the clock
I would realize that I am and invention to control reality and that time is not in control of me.

If you haven’t already do this with the item you picked out in the room, there is no right or wrong way to do this,

the less you think about it, the more fun and insightful it will be.

Get the idea, I just did that spontaneously by the way it’s a fun technique that you can do any time.
OK now how to use it in the dream? Look at your dream pick out items and people in the dream that seem to stand out in some way,

do this in a linear fashion from the beginning of the dream to the end.

I will be a door in my dream. I am a door and I feel. So first question to ask yourself as the item or person is how do you feel as this person or thing?
I am a door and I feel solid, wooden, I swing in and out, I open and close etc

Second question, what do I represent as the door?
I represent a way in and out of someplace.

DO NOT discount mundane items they often can reveal a lot of value.
Go through the dream in this manner from beginning to end, doing this in a playful way will usually get you some interesting insights.

YOU are the creator of your dreams by imagining you are the parts of the dream gives you and insight into the language of your own psyche.

It will be somewhat unique to you.

Here is a good example during one of the workshops I was teaching, I had a dream with this big guy who was overly aggressive, he was one of the

students in the workshop, by playing that I was him I realized I was being a little overly aggressive in my presentation of information.

Which gave me the insight to slow down a bit.

This is great stuff; I cannot over state the richness of what you will get from involving yourself in your own creative process.

LUCID DREAM TECHNIQUES

Ok I am going to repeat the standard process to recall dreams first, if you not remember dreams

fairly easily going into Lucid dream will be useless.

OK so how do you begin to remember your dreams, keep it simple. When you go to bed at night, pad and pen by your side, before closing

your eyes write down on the pad,

“Dreams, Dreams I will remember a dream and write it down”.

That is the first step. When you have a dream during the night and wake up indeed write it down.

Second step, once you are remembering your dreams fairly easily, now write down on your pad

“Dreams, Dreams I will have a dream remember it, understand it, and write it down”.

Note, the I will understand it, you are suggesting that you will understand and part of the time you will.

Third step, when the first and second steps are working fairly well for you now you can start asking questions.

“Dreams, Dreams, I want to have a dream,

I will have a dream that give me and answer to, STATE your question, I will have this dream remember it and understand it
Some can skip the first and second steps because they remember their dreams fairly easily, and sometime know their meaning.

Lucid dreams will often come to people who have taken some control of the first three steps. Many claim that their lucid dreams

happen later in the night and more toward morning.

For me I have had them at all different times of the night.

INTENT is the most important part, your intention to have a lucid dream. Simple suggestions you can give yourself during

the day while doing what ever it is that you do.

Say to yourself “I am dreaming” as though you’re waking reality were a dream.

“I will awaken in the Dream” now imagine what you would do to awaken in the dream,

look at your hands is a fairly well know technique I have pinched my self in the dream,

or asked myself the question am I dreaming. Using your pad and pen by the bed, write down

“I will have a dream, a lucid dream and I will become aware in the dream that I am dreaming”.

Once you become aware in the Dreamscape, now you can take some control.

I will often fly or levitate seems to be a favorite of mine, and once I am levitating I control by going up and down

or by staying level and viewing the people and landscape below. It is very cool
